Shouldn't Have Jinxed It
I freaking knew I shouldn't have mentioned it - sure enough it's jinxed. First of all the realtor selling the house is the one who postponed us meeting with him to put our offer in tomorrow morning instead of going ahead and coming to meet us yesterday like he said he could. Well about an hour ago he calls me and says that now there's another offer on the table for the house too and they haven't put an official offer in yet but should about the same time we do. We are meeting with him at 9:30 in the morning to draft the offer. This is a freaking joke. Houses stay on the market for months with no offers here and as soon as we get ready to boom. I'm pissed because the realtor told us Wednesday afternoon/evening not to worry because there was no interest and he went to his cabin for the weekend. He said he could drive back in the 20 minutes to meet on Friday so why didn't we? And now we're in a bidding war! Dad refuses to go over $115,000 on his offer and the asking price is $119,900. So now mom and I are figuring it's a lost cause. Well, looks like Sully got what he wanted too. And I'm saying this now - if this house falls through I am not going to look anymore. It's a lost cause. This will be the 5th house that I've gotten my hopes up on, more and more close every time and then boom it falls through. And I don't like the fact the realtor tells all the others that there are possible offers on the table. Therefore, they're going to increase their offer probably. Yet, Dad is stubborn as a mule and refuses to. What a joke. Oh, well. We'll see how tomorrow morning goes but I'm not planning on us getting it.
